CZ, thanks for the good wishes! (Sorry, I didn't see them until just now.)
Yes, it must be an out and back...no turning facility, so the Hudson will be towed back/push in reverse back. What we intend to do is to find a crossing it will be taking the day before and photograph it then. Unfortunately, it will have to be on the very return trip of that day because we are not going to be there until the afternoon. I figure if I find the right spot, I can make it look as if the steamer is coming towards me. At least, that is the hope and the plan.

I'm informed that the 2860 will double-head with ex-CP FP7 4069, and will be running in reverse behind the diesel for the return trip on each day. If you're chasing, get your pictures on the outbound trip!
selector Hello, and welcome. My wife and I, and a modelling buddy, are booked for Sunday, both ways. Couldn't miss this opportunity to be pulled by BC's biggest operating steam locomotive. -Crandell

All of us are a little envious and hope you have a great time with the Royal Hudson.

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know 2860 will be doing some mainline trips on May 2 & 3 from New Westminster BC to Cloverdale BC and return. For more info go to WCRA.org.
The engine will be leaving Squamish BC on April 26 with a full train but no passengers for the Southern Railway of BC yards in New West. This will be the first time since April 2007 that the engine has been out on the mainline.
The word is, on May 12 she will be pulling the Whistler Mountaineer from North Vancouver to Squamish along Howe Sound.
All my info comes from the wcra site and other forums.
