Business Car Grand Isle at Shelburne Museum
Posted by Fireflite on Saturday, January 17, 2009 8:16 PM

Last year I visted the Shelburne Museum in Vermont and walked through their business-observation car Grand Isle.  The info I have says the car was built in 1890 and "presented to the governor of Vermont."  The museum acquired the car in 1960.  I belive the car is currently wearing  Canadian National colors and logos.

I'd love to know more about this car's history.  Did one or more Vermont governors actually use it to travel around?  Am I correct about the CN paint scheme?  Did CN use it as business car?  Thanks.

Tom
