I think what Tim (tpatrick) was referring to, was the quality of the video while playing in "high definition" mode. When I click on the provided link to the video, it automatically takes me to the HD version. While in the HD version, the video resolution is alot different, and the video is choppy (in other words, the video doesn't stream well). The music doesn't bother me too much, but I have seen better production values. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
NNRY is WELL WORTH the time to visit ! I did the winter photo charters 2004-2007 and loved it all
Very highly recommended. This is one of the most complete working RR museums in the U.S.
Unfortunately I didn't make last year's winter photo session, nor will I make this years (in Feb) due to $ shortages.
In 2004 I rented the #93 and loved it too ! Pulling the throttle open even a notch is a rush - it's like a team of thoroughbreds waiting to be unleashed Loved pulling the whistle too - nothing like the sound of a steam locomotive whistle !!

tpatrick: The reason that it appears as a slide show is the video is loading slow am having the same problem. Just wait and play it after it all loads.
I think that tpatrick didn't let the video fully load before watching it, then when it would play faster than it was loading it would give a start/stop effect, that he took for broken still images. This Well done (in MY opinion) video was very slow to load for me, and I reckon for tpatrick too. Watch the loading bar to make sure that it is loaded before you watch it. That may not be explained in the best terms, but I still have a lot to learn about these Boxes of Magic & frustration aka Computers.
The Nevada Northern is a wonderful place to visit, in July of 2007, I did the Locomotive rental 2 pack, SD-9 #204 and the 4-6-0 #40 Guess which was my Favorite? The sound of that Steam Whistle is something that I will likely remember the rest of my life.

I didn't see any still images.

Sorry to sound like the Grinch, but this has to be one the most maddenly annoying videos I have ever seen. Here we have a beautiful steam locomotive - not just good looking, but beautiful in sound too. Kill the music! I don't want to hear music when there is a steam whistle to enjoy. And let me see the loco in operation - not a series of broken still images, but a smooth, cohesive and coherent presentation. Give me sound appropriate to the action. That means four chuffs in concert per wheel revolution. And that is just the beginning. Rather than go off on a full blown rant, suffice for me to say somebody's attempt at art has completely destroyed the essence of the subject.
Roger,
It is well worth the time and money. I've been there a number of times, and each time is as enjoyable as the last time...

Thanks, Jimmy B.
I was just reading about the 93 and the beautiful #40 on the NN. They found cracks in the axles on both engines and they were down for a while. I've always wanted to visit the railroad and I think the video has pushed me over the edge!
Roger
I watched this video the other day and thought it was first class. Thought some might be interested.
