Well I got the three disc DVD for Christmas, I've watched both of them and love them. They were done so well.
Yeah I can see how after watching it a few times, and then just wanting to listen to it with out the narration on.
If you're asking about the 'narration off' setting as part of the question, I like it myself. After watching a DVD once or twice I usually remember what's going on, and it's nice to be able to just watch and listen to the trains. A little off subject, but as a model railroader I wish more model railroad videos had the option, like Pentrex's DVD on Allen McClelland's V&O RR. I like the "Great Model RR" series from Allan Keller, but I would like to be able to skip the narration and "how to" segments and just watch trains with added sound affects etc.
Well thank you for you commets Doug, I think I will be getting the three disc set. With there being 217 mins on the three disc set, and with 205 mins of bonus footage, I think it will be well worth it.
Being a Union Pacific fan from Portland, OR this set was tailor made for ME . Volume one covers the UP 844's trip out west from Cheyenne, WY to Portland. Volume two covers the 844 and 4449 double headed to Seattle, WA (Fife yard) and their excursions up there. It also shows a scene on the way to Seattle, where at Chehalis, WA the Chehalis Western has their Baldwin 2-8-2 Logging Mike steamed up on the spur next to the mainline, this had Steam locomotives from all 3 of the major builders together under steam at the same time, which is getting to be a very rare occurence any more. Volume three covers the 844's trip home to Cheyenne. For ME it was a set that I HAD to have, I am sure that you will enjoy it.
