Caboose rebuild

Hi....

I'm in need of a little help.  We are working on restoring an 1953 BW Caboose for our town, the outside is almost done.  Soon we will be startiing the inside of this caboose.  I'm looking for ideas on how to find caboose items  that are missing on the inside.  seats, tables, and so on....Any help would be nice.

You're in luck. Cabeese didn't have much in the way of equipment. Several O and G gauge cabooses have detailed interiors and they are pretty spartan. But you could follow them. You could probably find someone in your town who worked for a railroad who either knows or knew someone who was on a train crew and could tell you. Get the editor of the newspaper in your town to write something about your predicament. I bet you'll get some responses.

Best bet would be to identify which road your caboose served on, then start looking for assistance. Local railroad museum contacts might be your best bet. You can also look and see if the road your car came from has a historical society. Those organizations could better aid you in returning the interior to it's original configuration if that is your goal.
