Seems like a minor inconvenience relative to the devastation that the locals are dealing with.  Kudos to both the 261 team and CP for rescheduling the trips instead of outright cancelling them.

Milwaukee 261 steam trips suspended

On a hunch, I just wandered over to the 261 website, to see if the flooding around south central Wisconsin has affected the steam trips around the Dells scheduled for June 21st. They have:

The Canadian Pacific Railway has regretfully informed us that due to the unprecedented flooding in the Wisconsin Dells and Portage areas that it will not be possible to operate our trips on June 18,20,21,22,and 24.

At this time the track in the Portage area remains under water and it is doubtful that the railroad can be safely reopened prior to our scheduled excursions.

As a result we are rescheduling the excursions as follows
Mpls to Milw Aug. 13
Milwaukee Sturtevant Dinner Train Aug. 15
Milwaukee Dells New Lisbon Aug 16 and Aug 17
Milwaukee to Mpls Aug 19

Your current tickets will be honored on the corresponding rescheduled trips.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this postponement may have caused you. Unfortunately extreme weather events such as we are experiencing are beyond our control.
Thanks for understanding

Not surprising, considering the horrible conditions up there right now. It's raining again, and no one's sure that some of the overtaxed dams will hold this time.
