Reading 2100 and the Golden Pacific RR
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, January 6, 2008 9:30 PM

The Golden Pacific website is still up but is a "mockup"  with only the home page operating.  The photo slide show from the first operations in 2006 are there but the subsidiary sections are not accessible.  Last report I saw was that the loco had run over Stampede Pass ca March or April 2007 to the Richland area for maintenance.

I heard that Tacoma Rail (a city-owned enterprise) had a change in managment who was not friendly to steam, and the GP did not operate in 2007 to my knowledge.

Does anyone know the current status of the loco and the GPRR operation?

As far as I know, the GPRR was not in a financial position to continue operations beyond the 2006 season. There is a thread elsewhere in which someone enquired about the current location of the 2100. I think someone had an answer, but I don't remember what it was.

THe 2100 is in Richland Wa and the engine is separate from GPRR.  I hear that Tom Payne needed to get the engine out of Tacoma.  There are other comments from many on other forums but I will not get into it. The GPRR cars are in Milwaukee OR on a siding.

Hi there,

Just checking in to see if anyone had an answer to the current location of the 2100.  I've heard conflicting information: Pasco or Richland WA, or perhaps Milwaukee OR.  Anyone have an update?  We're in WA and would to have a look see if it's nearby.  Thanks for any help you can give.

What a shame to take a beautiful Reading T-1 and screw it up by changing it to an oil burner and painting it like a circus train and then not even having the bucks to run it!

Please.........oh, please...................let her return to the USA and run again!

She is in the USA. But, she does look like a circus train. I haven't heard anything about it for 2 years.
