"Run again" would definately come under the "world wonders" heading. The project was suspended last June due to financial problems at the Railroader's Memorial Museum in Altoona, who owns the loco and was overseeing and financing the restoration. An engineering problem with the thickness of the firebox inner and outer walls (mainly the roof sheet) was the final straw.
Currently, the locomotive is in pieces at Steamtown in Scranton, which provided space for the project when they got kicked out of the Juniata shops in Altoona in the late 80's or early 90's. The tender is almost complete, receiving almost a complete new body. The Altoona Museum is currently building their own roundhouse and turntable and propose to move the pieces back to Altoona when the building is ready.

The K4 wasn't (and never was) a project of Steamtown or the National Park Service. Since being pulled from display on Horseshoe Curve, the loco has been under the control of the Railroader's Memorial Museum in Altoona. I've had many uninformed people trying to badmouth Steamtown for botching up the K4 project and have to constantly remind them of this.
All Steamtown did was provide floorspace in the shops for the project to continue.
