Hello, I work on the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad in Sandusky, Ohio were we run 3 foot gauge coal fired vulcans and porter. Some co-workers and myself make frequent trips to Huck to spend some time with the crew and help out (actually we were there on 12/15/07). The one vid posted earlier is one of my co-works. Anyway someone asked for a cab shot! Hopes this helps, its K-27 464 taken in 06.

LOL! Coach 306 is in the 2nd picture, you can see the number in the botom right corner! Banged Head [banghead]

Doh! Honestly as soon as I saw that engine thats all that mattered, infact as I was walking away I was saying to myself I should have written those car numbers down because I had just forgot everything the second the conductor said it was okay to go walk down by the engine for a few pictures Blush [:I]

Oh well its been a long day but it sure beats sitting at home on my day off! 5hr drive there 5hr drive back for a 30 minute train ride... well worth it My 2 cents [2c]

Now I must sleep, I have to be up for work in... 3 1/2 hours Dead [xx(]

So my sister and the kids ended up not going, my sister being dumb like she is forgot! and made plans to do somthing with her inlaws Dead [xx(]

Sorry no pic's inside the cab I did get a few pic's of the engine and some of the passenger car's and caboose when we first got there before the train left for the 5:00 run. There was hardly any people on the 5:00 train so we rode in car 316 (combine) the 2nd to last car before the caboose. The train had like a dozen coaches, the conductor said that the next train at 5:45 was going to have 300+ passengers Shock [:O] Coaches 320 and 260 were on the train but not 306 or the caboose 0526... on a strange note there was a 2nd Rio Grande #464 tender body (looked in good condition) sitting outside by some trees near there shop Confused [%-)]

Anyway Enjoy the pic's, the big guy next to the engine in the pic from the front is my dad, he came too Tongue [:P]

I wanted to bring my sisters son to IRM next year but who know's if they will have any steam running and I cant take him with me to colorado next year on my vacation cause ill be gone a couple weeks (Taking Amtrak CA Zephyr w/my dad to Grand Junction and renting a pickup to drive to durango, spend a few nights there maybe one in Silverton, ride some trains ofcorse, play some golf with my dad and explore old RGS ROW, then drive over to Chama to spend a couple days on the Cumbres & Toltec before heading back to Grand Junction to take the Zephyr back home)

The kiddo is turning 2yr old this sunday the 23rd, I remember my 2nd birthday party pretty well and this is going to be my birthday present to him. I just hope they have the K27 running I'd love for it to be the first real steam engine he see's in action! Big Smile [:D] His mom's (my sister) birthday is also this week on Thursday. She used to love going to IRM with my dad and I when we were kids and jumped right away when I asked her to come too saying it sounds like alot of fun Smile [:)]

use the link above and call ahead. They have a christmas calendar and an information desk to confirm trains are running or not....

The kids will love it and you will too! they have a couple of steam locomotives, last summer I visited and the K27 was in the shop, and a Mogul was substituted, just as nice.

Biggest thrill is the pristine passenger cars form the 1800's. Not sure if they have heat in the cars so bundle up! the caboose is really nice to with seats up in the cupola you can see the whole train during the ride.

Enjoy!
