Welcome to the forums, and the fact that you spent your hard earned $$$$ on the train is a big kudos in my book. I (like you) would love to see the mike in steam but if the consol can handle the job then let it bark like a dog!
Highball....Train looks good device in place!!

On the last Sommerville excursion of the season ( last month), I spoke with one of the TVRR members while dining that day.  He indicated that the 4501 will be restored but is on the back burner due to 630's rebuilding.  He stated that plans are to have 630 ready sometime next year.  In speaking with one of the fireman at Sommerville, he stated that 630, being a lot more loco than 610, could easily handle the excursions without the Geep's help as is now necessary due to the grades along the line.  The fact was also mentioned that the 4501 is simply too much loco for the excursions.   It would be like running a Cab Forward with three cars......an overkill, for sure.   Plus, I'm sure there are some weight restrictions that come into play.   I hope that ALL their steam eventually operates....all it takes is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.   I did enjoy my day immensly.
