Steam at the IRM seems to have been put on the back burner.

Both, and add grumpy old men in charge of the steam shop, driving away younger volunteers.

I hear that UP 428 is almost done, nothing about the J.Neils  Shay, and Frisco 2-10-0 1630 should be running.

I've heard from people at IRM the next engine that should be running is the 1630. They are hoping by next summer to have it running. Then The UP 428 should be next after that, but I didn't get a real good timeline on when 428 will run, and I didn't hear anything about the shay other then they are working on getting it running also. I'm not sure if these volunteers I was talking with gave me 100% correct information, so lets keep our fingers crossed IRM has steam next year! Also I heard what has taken them so long is the didn't have a drop table so the work took longer, and I believe they got a drop table this past year. I witnessed crews working on the 1630 so I know it is being worked on.
