Don't forget the UP "Dalsa" tracks. East and West-Houston to San Antone and points west and Waco to Victoria and points south intersect at Flatonia. Lots of guys railfan there.

Texas has some good spots to see trains in action
Dallas BNSF KCS UP DGNO
BNSF has A yd outside of Dallas In Irving mainly south bound to houston from tulsa And OKC A few north bound
KCS yd Is near Garland Its An ex ATSF Intermodal (piggyback COFC TOFC) terminal
but all KCS trains from Shreveport west bound go here Some to Alliance yd In FT Worth
mostly IM trains Some IM-GM mix
DGNO YD In garland switching road In Dallas mostly ex MKT line from Dallas to Green ville And Dallas area
UP 3 yds Miller Yd ex SP-SSW line to hearne Tx And some trains to Pine Bluff Ark
Browder yd and Mockingbird yd ex MP switching yds
ATSF had A big Hump yd In Dallas But In 1993 was closed down And Alliance Yd In North
FTWorth Was opened Dallas yd was down graded all tracks ripped up Then DART
Dallas Area Rapid Transit Aquired the R.O.W. And Built The first light rail system In Texas
A lot Of old ATSF R.O.W. was regraded And new track and ties laid New bridges built
Yd was reopened but All tracks come In one way then loop to the shop then trains are back on the main line DART opened to the public in june of 1995 When I rode It for the firsttime It felt like an Old ATSF Super chief going west
