Sandusky, Ohio and Castalia, Ohio
Posted by NSlover92 on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 2:26 PM

I am building a model railroad and I figure you great guys over at the Trains fourm would be able yo help me. I live just out side Castalia, Ohio on a farm our family has owned for over 100 years. My family has built down all along the two state routes (6 and 269) on the edge of our fields. And my great uncle owns a large section at the corner of 6 and 269. He has some buildings and his house. The land was a old mine that gypsin ( I am not sure how to spell it). But there was a narrow gauge rail running down to Castalia down 269. Also there was a railroad station the the big 4 ran out of but the rails have been torn out and the station moved across the street and is being used for the Lions club. I have a map I got from the local libary. But I would love more info. Also in Sandusky, Ohio there is still alot of railroad action but there was rails running down the street for the factorys that most of which have left and gone over seas (it sucks the economy is dying). They have been paved over and I would love a map of them. Thanks so much.
