One of my fondest memories is that wonderful place called St. Louis Union Station. Most of my memories come from the later years (mid '60s to end of service in the '70s). However, up to the end, that most wonderful device, the double slip switch was an integral part of SLUS. I have never seen any history of who first built one or the development of it. It seems that it must have appeared after the end of the stub switch and the beginning of the point type of switch.
Anyone out there have any information that they would like to share?
