Greetings,

As of right now I am hoping to head to Southern California in late April this year. This will be my first time out that way. I am looking for suggestions on locations to stay to check out places like Cajon and Tehachapi. Also any other suggestions for locations to check out for some good railroad action. I hope to fly into LAX.

Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

For Tehachapi, the Travelodge Hotel is located right on State Route 58 at Tehachapi Summit. The Loop is just back up the road (north). It's been a while since I've been there, but I seem to remember there was also a nice restaurant located at the hotel. Nice place to stay.

For Cajon, there is a Best Western, located literally right near the Cajon/Sullivan's Curve area. Cajon Summit is just east of the hotel on State Route 138. The hotel is at the junction of State Route 138 and Interstate 15. The I-15 runs to Barstow from the LA area. The last time I stayed there, it was kind of a dive. But, it has been remodeled and looks decent, from the outside at least.
