I‘m planning on finally getting out to railfan tomorrow, and I was wondering what some of the best spots in Omaha are. I thought it’d be neat to railfan along the UP’s double-tracked mainline through West O, but I had trouble findlong any nice spots along there. Any tips?
I looked in this site's Hotspot index, but I did not see one for Omaha. Perhaps its because many UP trains go on the bypass north of the city, and BNSF has a bypass south of town. The one spot I heard about is the former UP depot, which I believe is now an art museum.
