I have a free Sunday afternoon in Omaha coming up in a couple of weeks, and I'd like to spend a few hours train watching. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
The 10th St Bridge over the the UP main line. It's between the old Union Depot & the old CB&Q depot. But it's feast or famine. Might see nothing for 3 hrs then half a dozen in 30 min. Can see Amtrak early in the AM or Late in the PM. UP Harriman dispatch center is a couple of blocks away. It's also about a block from the Old Market district. Lots of places to eat. Lots of shops to keep an uninterested spouse busy if you are so encumbered.
Best bet for activity in Omaha is across the river in Council Bluffs. Both UP and IC/CN mains are under the Kanesville Viaduct and Ave G Bridges. It is also the site of the UP Heritage Car shops. If there is a system directors special anywhere, they will be switching cars around. You can get good views from the grain elevator, which has an unrepainted KCS switcher. The IC/CN has had EJE Sd38's lately.
South expressway by I-80/29 has BNSF yard, Iowa Interstate, and UP. You can access loco shop at Iowa Int from a side street. Lots of power, business cars. BNSF yard has layover KCS units if loading grain at Bartlett Elevator.
Most bang for the buck in a short time. And all of these areas are with 1.5 miles of downtown Council Bluffs.
