Haley Tower

We were in Terre Haute,IN on sunday and stopped in at the Haley Tower Museum. Our host was Jim Rhodes. What a great guy. He showed us all around the grounds. First was Haley Tower. A brick tower with the interlocking machine still there. I was told it still works but does not control the junction any longer. Next was Turner Station. An old PRR station from near Brazil,IN. Next was Spring Hill Tower. An old wooden tower with the "armstrong" levers still in place.

There is an old wod caboose that need work. Also a viewing platform. A geat place to watch trains. Saw at least six trains in the few hours we were there. The place is not fancy but sure makes up for that with the friendly people that keep the place going. Haley tower is just like it was when it was a working tower including the trains running down below. I highly recommend this place for a visit. If you have time be sure to stop in on a weekend and check it out.
