Not this time, actually. I have been here before, a year earlier, and they questioned me about 9pm. He was nice, and is familiar with railfans so not a problem at all. Funny though, right when he parked his car to talk to me, the gates lowered for the Southwest Chief and the cop's tail end was on the tracks. He had to run back and move it up. Very amusing and odd that he would do such a thing.

Thanks man!
Coming from KC this area is moderately difficult to get to. I like to follow the tracks as much as possible and that would make this tricky, so probably the most simple route consists of MO hwy 210 east to Richmond where you get on to hwy 10. Follow that through Hardin then starting at Norborne the road parallels the tracks. WB junction is about maybe 8 miles on the left. Cant miss it. There is a road that splits the junction and has very little traffic, and there is plenty of gravel area right beside the road to park.
If you want to stay in Norborne I would suggest parking on Oak st. which is much less busier than county D. To get there turn left from 10 onto 2nd st. and take that to oak where you'll turn right. Right past the first crossing pull into the gravel. Nobody should bother you here except the man who lives across the street that has lived there for 50 or so yrs. Interesting man he is. Overall this is probably an hour and a half from downtown KC.
I can't make it back here until next August. so have fun! and shoot some vids! Let me know how it goes.
Well if U ever get to Vegas Daggett is only 2 hours from there. The same goes from LA BTW
t.winx wrote:I would like to go to Dagget someday. For a college guy though, it costs a little too much to get there. Nebraska and KC is about all I can afford.
Living nearby to MP 186 of the UPRR Austin TX Sub
This area sounds exactly like the situation at Daggett CA except there it is only UPRR & BNSF but on the hand there you also get all the BNSF gulf traffic which cuts off the transcon at Texico NM
