I went to Burnside in 2001 with a guy named Emmett Bell. You may know him as one of the owners of the NS Discussion Group here http://jreb.org/ns/index.php or on the Kentucky Railfan Group on Yahoo.

About 2 weeks ago I just got back from Burnside, Kentucky...Trains were good location was bad!!! The location mentioned in my Hot Spots book says to pull off the side of the highway near the bridge. That's where it all went wrong, the pull off and the path were completely torn up by a construction crew. We ended up at a church/school parking lot, where the view of the bridge was obscured by trees. Luckily, I went in the winter, it would be a lot worse in the spring or Summer!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I'm playing the devils advocate here and say that the best place is Covington, KY at the tunnel or the approach off the Ohio River bridge.

Wishful thinking Joe, it has not been L&N for more than 25 years.
