J, it appears that 3300's supposed to leave tomorrow on MPRCB. I don't think it's arrived yet today, though--that might be a short turn for a unit with all of its alleged problems!
UP 2001 and CNW 8701 are working on ABEBE (saw 'em this morning!); it wouldn't be too hard to get them off that assignment, I suspect.

The post on Loconotes was 100% correct.
I personally saw the note in the UP computer about UP 3300 being retired and scheduled for auction. Somebody changed their mind and UP 3300 appears to be active again.
UP is having a locomotive auction on July 20 in St. Louis. This is the auction 3300 was supposed to be sold at.
So the UP likes to retire, then un-retire engines? Did I get that straight? Maybe they should do something like baseball and put the engines on a disabled list when they're not working properly. Broken crankshaft = sore crankshaft, etc.

I don't pay that much attention to who posts what, so when I read this and looked at the other thread I thought "Yeah, that sounds like something Jim would do!"
Then I saw that it was you who posted this.

Truly, a remark that will live in the Forum's Annals of Understatement!
I noticed that too Max.
BTW- Jim, going to church does not make you a Christian, Accepting Jesus Christ as your savior makes you a Christian. But this is not the place for that discussion so that's all I'm going to say.
Wait a minute....
YOU were the one who told us it was being retired!
