I asked for a copy of the special issue of TRAINS dealing with the steam era. I like all types of locomotives, but I'm nostalgic about steam from the time when I was a kid, meeting my Dad at the station on occasion, when he came home from his office in Philadelphia. Also, we lived a half a block from the tracks and I vividly recall the sights and sounds of the fast freights roaring by in the late forties and early fifties - quite exciting, indeed! We were next to the river route of the Pennsy in NJ that ran from Camden to Bordentown, hauling freight and local passengers. Also, I commuted from Philly to Ocean City for two weeks in 1957 on the Pennsylvania - Reading Seashore Line. I don't remember whether there was a diesel or steam loco on these trips.

I actually was given a book for Christmas I had been looking for for a while, "Slim Rails Across the Sand" by George Turner. Anything Southern Pacific, especially from around California I would love.

Bought myself 2 Milwaukee Road GP9's on ebay. Also got some rail cars including 4 DM&IR ore cars.

I usually make a list and let my wife suprise me ! That way I never get anything I don't want.

Little things to make my layout look more realistic like, table and chairs to go in my KFC restaurant or posters for the windows of my new store. Things that make your town buildings look good and are inexpensive. That's what I want Santa to bring.

I hope to get anything CSX, Conrail or NS in N scail. Lots and lots of coalporters would be good. I also hope to get the Sandpatch Add on for Microsoft Train Sim.

try entering CNW Railroad in a search engine. Lots & lots of nice sites to visit.

I would love to receive anything Train related for Christmas, but since my wife doesn't understand my fascination with them, if I don't get it myself I probably won't get anything. And since I have recently switched to N scale, I can fit a lot more in the old stocking!

This is where Mookie lets Hubby find out that a pretty rock diamond costs considerably less than a $235,000 custom built piece of cast steel![;)]

My teenaged step-son gives me a subscription to Trains Magazine for Christmas. He rolls his eyes when I thank him every month, but knows I won't be doing any annoying parenting stuff for a day or two.
