Hi
I have been checking woit different groups to see if there maght be any M&W Z1a locomotives left any where in the world. someone told me that there was an article in Trains Magazine some years ago.does any one here know of it or any thing about the Z1a

Try a GOOGLE search for NW Z1a and see what happens. If no returns, try spelling out NW.

According the book (N&W GIANT OF STEAM) by Lewis Jeffries the last z1a was scrapped in 1953.

Hi
Shawn Fields was saaying that a few of the Z1as were shipped out of the states. I am looking to see ir there are any of these left too. I read somewhere that a Z1a was used as a stationary boiler somewhere in the south. it was supposed to have come from an article in Trains Magazine
