So does this mean that there will be more traffic between Ackerville and Milwaukee?
What was the reason for abolishing the Milwaukee to Fondulac CN train? These are all very interesting developements!
A recent STB filing indicates WSOR will soon begin running unit trains (grain, apparently) from the WSOR northern division, via CP trackage rights through North Milwaukee, thence over the C&M to Rondout and on to points east/south. (WSOR has existing trackage rights east of Rondout, used by the Chicago-Janesville trains.)
Rumors have been circulating about WSOR eventually handling some of CP's Milwaukee-area switching.
Also involved are Canadian National's operations in the area. It was rumored that the L510 train (Fond du Lac-Milwaukee and return via Duplainville) would be abolished with traffic being handled by WSOR Ackerville-Milwaukee. That was supposed to have started this week, but didn't. Furthermore, CN's Saukville and West Bend operations were to be consolidated again, with the night DBR Jct crew being abolished, and WSOR handling CN's cars between Ackerville and DBR (or North Milwaukee, not sure which). Nothing's changed on that end yet, either.
What has changed is that two WSOR jobs are now based out of North Milwaukee. The ML job formerly handled all switching in the North Milwaukee area, the occasional run to Granville to swap cars with the HM, and once or twice a week, running north of Saukville (CN trackage rights) to Plymouth. Now that job (don't know if it's still called the ML) apparently is supposed to go to Ackerville and back every day. A night job is called for late afternoon, apparently, to handle all the North Milwaukee switching and the occasional run to Plymouth.
At least that's what several unofficial sources have suggested. Perhaps someone here has more detail.

Maybe that's what the GP15-1's are for that recently went to Horicon. Some to replace the GP7's and some for yard power. Here's hoping!

One of my drivers told me today that he heard from a friend of his that works for the WSOR that the WSOR may soon be taking over the switching duties from the CP at Jones Island as well as Miller brewery; he also said that the WSOR is negotiating with the CP to take possession of the Menomonee Valley yards.
Perhaps someone with 'connections' could ascertain the degree of validity of these rumors?
