I thought GP 38s had either D32 or AR10 generators.
I'll check my data but I don't recall a D24 main generator.
There were two series of generators I know, the D12/22/32 series and the D15/25 series.
In the export units (and the E8), the D15 was limited to 1125 HP, but in the E9, they went to two D12s (or D22s for late units I guess) which allowed 1200 hp from each engine.
The highest power rating for a D32 was 2500HP in the GP35, but that required complicated switchgear, hence the reduction in power of many GP35s to 2000 HP.

I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of a mother unit being made out of a GP 18 with a D22 DC main gen, its rating is 1750 Hp ive seen them made from strait 38s with D24 mains but those were rated at 2000 hp.
any insight will be appreciated.
P.S. i still havent figured out what Dilly Dally 98 means if anyone has a clue
thanks
