Northern New York (not to be confused with the City!) almost close enough to be considered Canadian, eh?

With roots in SE Michigan.

Well, I'm Canadian, eh? Live in Quebec. But share some boarder with New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. We used to be at one end of the only VIA Rail train to ever enter American soil as a VIA Rail train....the Atlantic (Montreal to Halifax by way of Maine)

Im located just outside of Branson, Mo. little town of Kirbyville. We have the M&NA passing thru Branson and Hollister, Mo. We are also fortune enough to have the Branson Scenic Railway operating a tourist train. M&NA route sees an empty coal train pass through about every 24 hours. There are 3 mile long tunnels a short distance from Branson, both on the north and south end. I have taken some nice photos around these areas.
Happy Holidays from Dave.

Missouri!!!

Close to UP (MP/Cotton Belt) through Illmo (have spent many enjoyable hours in Scott City/Chaffee area with my son. Can hear the BNSF trains about 1/2 mile from my house in Cape G.

However, that cant beat my apartment back in St.Paul MN that overlooked and was about 75 feet from the former NP main (BNSF St. Paul) sub in St. Anthony Park. (that was almost 30 years ago....saw NP, GN, and those new BN green locos!)
Walt 10 miles from Rockview, Mo...45+UP/15BNSF trains per day!

East Texas, North Texas, and the Metroplex. I was banished to the land of Fruits and Nuts for 3 months but escaped California! No offense to California but I couldn't resist that line--told to me by a Golden State native!
