Railfanning In Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Posted by AMTK161 on Thursday, March 29, 2007 8:11 PM

Hello everyone,

My father and I will be spending tomorrow and Saturday in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area.  Our plan tomorrow is to go catch some CSX and Tri-Rail action, and Saturday to go watch the FEC.  Does anyone have answers to any of the following questions:
1.  Is there any difference in the number of trains that run on the weekend on the FEC then on a weekday?  If so, how much of a difference?

2.  I know that the O720 and O722 are locals that work in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area; how about O721?  If O721 is in fact a train in the area, what time does it run and where does it work?

3.  As far as the FEC goes, what time is the best time to go over and catch the most action, on weekends (and if there aren't any trains, which I think is unlikely) what time is the best on weekdays?

4.  What other trains work the CSX in Ft. Lauderdale, and what time do they usually run?

Thanks for any answers.
