Csx Starting Over?
Posted by JoeKoh on Sunday, November 23, 2003 12:26 PM
Matt and I were out today and saw a Csx train between hamler and holgate ohio. The funny thing about this intermodal was that the lead engine had a number 3 on it.not only on the side but on the top as well.Is Csx starting to renumber locomotives?has anyone seen #1 or #2?

The first series of one of them new-fangled wide bodies of some sort has a lightning bolt on the side of the cab and they are numbered from 1 to 300 or something. Whereyoubin, boy? They've been around for three or four years at least. [I can't remember for sure. The years start to become a blur after a bit.]

I just figured that after spending 1 Million $s for 4 Superbowl tickets they couldn't afford to paint anymore than 1 number per loco

I suppose after spending $1,000,000 on Super Bowl tickets, they couldn't afford both blue and grey paint. That's why they went to the dip blue scheme![V]

Well gentlemen consider this..
when taking pics of mainline csx trains i have had a diffrent engine at the point no matter what the model.i thought i have had the same engine # before but it was a sibling locomotive. And I ve been taking train pics for awhile now.
