Finally, I'm back
Posted by Nora on Friday, November 21, 2003 6:09 PM
I am writing this from home, not the library! Although the library was actually more comfortable. I'm sitting on the floor in the dark since the computer desk is still in the storage shed and we don't have anything around I can stand on to screw in a lightbulb. But my point is that I should be back and you all can send me pictures again and they won't clog up my email box. nora@homewoodjunction.com -- that's a new email address. Hope to be around here a little more now!

Nora

My wife says that is why she married me - so I can reach up and do the light bulbs. You see, she is blond and part Polish. (SHE is the one that says that! Not that I wouldn't have first, of course.)

Welcome back.

We are along the NS Ft. Wayne line just north of Conway yard...it used to be a Pennsylvania line and before that (a loooooong time ago) was part of the Pittsburgh, Ft. Wayne and Chicago RR and before that the Ohio and Pennsylvania RR. As far as I have been able to find out, anyway. We are quite close to the Ohio border, maybe 10 or 15 miles.

My husband is 6'6" & is very useful for lightbulbs, high shelves and knocking himself into semiconsciousness with the low beams in the garage and basement. [:D] Although I was NOT happy when he put the kids' Halloween candy on top of the cabinets where I had absolutely no hope of ever reaching it! Never did get any...

I am not 6'6", and so don't usually find myself on the floor checking out the ceiling. But I am considerably taller than my wife who is 5'2".

Just think of the candy incident as your husband looking out for his families health. You know, dentist bills, hyper kids not going to bed, all that sort of stuff.

Nora....Thanks for that discription of the near by rail line....If it is what I think it is I have traveled on it many years ago each way a time or two...when it was the great Pennsylvania Railroad.

Hi Nora - you can take over now and I am going to rest awhile! Keep them in line, however, cuz they have been a bit rowdy! Welcome back!

Nora, glad to have you back! Hopefully it won't take you too long to get settled in! Sounds like a nice location too! Hope to read more great posts soon now that you're back.

JoeKoh- As I was traveling over the weekend I missed witnessing the gold stars, but as with Mookie I have to offer great congratulations! I've only got about 930 more to go!
