Will be visiting family in the Northeast section of Baltimore (Nottingham/Whitemarsh) and would like some advice on a safe, legal place to watch some NEC action. Any help appreciated.[:)]

I can only tell you that most of the places to watch aren`t directly in Baltimore. I know of some spots for CSX and MARC, but not sure about the NEC.

I suggest you go to Havre de Grace. Some good locations for watching Amtrak's trains there are the parking lot downstream from the Amtrak bridge or the Jean Roberts Park upstream from the Amtrak bridge. Good locations for watching CSX trains are a trail along the west bank of the Susquehanna River and the Cecil County Holly Tree Park in Jackson, MD 2 miles east of Perryville which is across the Suquehanna River from Havre de Grace. Note: if you cross the Susquehanna River the toll is now $5 which is collected eastbound. I hope this helps.
