Photographed this one along LaGrange Rd in Louisville. I have photographed the lead locomotive once before this year, near Brooks,KY on the old L&N Main.

Stuff I took at the beginning of last month.

Danville,KY

 On the former L&N Main....

Belmont,KY

Saw the train originally moving slowly just south of Bardstown Junction, and had to race it down to Belmont. Of course,as my luck goes, there was a combine in the way on the road. I made it to Belmont just as the train rounds the bend in the first couple of shots.

Shepherdsville,KY

This northbound was waiting for the southbound to pass,I assume.

Cecilia,KY,on the PAL line.

Glendale,KY

Was at the wrong angle at that time of day.Oh well.

I was told at the Elizabethtown hobby place that a local originates out of Cecilia nearly every day at 10:30 in the morning.

At that time though on Wednesday I was just getting started on my trip.

SimRacin40 the line west of Glendale is probably the Paducah & Louisville RR. It was the Illinois Central's line from Paducah to Louisville. I can remember watching IC steam switching in Cecilia when I was a kid. The branch to Elizabethtown and Hodgenville also began there. Not sure how frequent the traffic is there but if you are lucky you may get a peek at thier UL or UK locos.

Going on another trip tommorow. Glendale is one stop I know I will be at. I looked on google maps and noticed another line running a few miles to the west of Glendale, does anyone know who owns it or how much traffic it gets daily?

Highlights from Saturday.Have more if any of you all are interested.

Saw several CSX SUV's picking up crews. Engineer from one train waved at me when he was going to put the brakes on,on the front locomotive. Saw a cop too,but no one said anything to me.Figured I'd mention that since it was mentioned security can be rough in that area.

Nice pictures and videos.

Security around that area can be tough sometimes. (even if you know some one that

works out of Osborn.)

Just an FYI, 1135 is an MP15AC. I've been able to take a few pics of her sister engines

the few trips I've been able to be over there. (been in the cab of one of them. (legally)

Photographed in Erlanger on 8/12:

Photographed in New Haven on 8/25:

Yesterday:

First train of the day,a southbound, with an SD60 leading and an SD50 behind it.

Some CSXT Maintence of Way equipment.I guess they got the day off.

CSXT locomotive #7345,a Dash C40-8W, sits in the yard. The sun was not helping this morning. I was hoping this train would come my direction further down the line, but it went backwards into the yard.

While riding along Osborn Yard,I managed to photograph two Union Pacific locomotives:

#5346 is a GE ES44AC.

#4124 is a SD70M.

The UP locomotives also began to back into the yard, another train caught my eye.

Three locomotives were on this northbound freight,it was just passing through the yard, apparently.

CSXT #2661 is a GP38-2.

CSXT #6495 is a GP40-2.

CSXT #2281 is what is known as a Road Slug.

Side shot of #2661

Side shot of #6495

Side shot of #2281

#2661,from the back.

#6495 from the back.

#2281 from the back.

CSXT #1135 is a switcher. I would've tried to slow down but I was being followed by some airport security who thought I was photographing airplanes or something. At least the engineer in CSX #2661 was nice enough to wave to me and give the thumbs up as he went past while I was filming the train going over a grade crossing.

CSXT #494 and #271 were parked just north of Osborn Yard when I returned in the afternoon(spent mid-day in a park, filmed two CSX freight then)

Both locomotives are  AC4400CWs

I think they just have the CF-7 to bring the train back,Might be difficult pulling the train in reverse if they're in #152,with the tender blocking the view, but what do I know?

Slim, Those are Awesome Videos, very happy to see 152 back in service this season.

What's with the CF-7 on the back?! 152 could pull that train with no problems.

Thank You for sharing those.

Three videos I filmed yesterday:

The first train I filmed was just a mile south of Shepherdsville. There's a thrift store next to the tracks,so my mom pulled in there,I got out and stood in the parking lot. A few minutes later a big CSX truck pulls up. I wasn't too worried,I was in a safe spot on the store's lot. One of the guys gets out,and we chat for a few minutes. He told me I wouldn't have to wait too long for a train, and got back in his truck. A little while later he told me from the truck that there was a train coming from the north,so I set up and filmed it as it came by.

The second train I filmed was leaving Osborn Yard. Had I arrived a few minutes early,I would've been able to capture a freight entering the yard that had 9 engines on it.(Wasn't very long, though.) In this one you might hear me mumble something for a split second,I was noting the smell of the lumber, which was on one of the cars.

The third video I'm posting from now comes from LaGrange,KY. I waited for forty minutes for this train to come rolling through.

It threw me for a loop as well. There was someone down by where he blew the horn that was photographing the train, maybe they knew each other or something.

Hey everyone,it's "Monday Manifest" time(OK,so I'm playing around.)

I bought a tripod today, still getting the hang of using it,so it's a little rough.Zoom isn't too great since I was filming in an odd spot.

Both of these are from Glendale,KY. I am kicking myself for missing four trains today and only filming two. I will head out again tommorow and Wednesday, towards Louisville. I'll have half a day tommorow, and all day Wednesday.
