Please keep up the good work. If I waited for the local media to deliver the information that interests me, we still might be waiting for news on the invention of the first practical steam locomotive...

I try to look at it every day but I really don't have alot of time to read the News Wire. I would have to give up playing a round of golf and I will not golf less then five times a week!!!

The only really usable source for current railroad news... I regard it as an indispensable part of my daily news-gathering (along with the BBC, Toronto Globe and Mail, ABC News, Montreal Gazette and Edinburgh Evening Star (we can't all be perfcet!))

My son, he's 4, has been a train fanatic since he was born. His love for trains has made train lovers of the whole family. We became members of the Ill. Railway Museum for him and now taylor at least one of our vacations, every year, to trains.

---The number one reason I look at the Trains.com website is to check the news wire...I probably wouldn't bother with the website if there was not an almost daily news update of some kind...I rarely look at the forums---

Now living so far away from any form of rail, I look forward to the News Wire each week in order to see what's going on in the real world!

....News Wire: It is an important location to gather railroad news. Can't depend on newspaper or TV news to relate accurate railroad happenings. Reporters just don't grasp the reality of rail news and know less of terminology. So I consider News Wire important for me.

The one way the newswire could be improved is if it had links to available photos of the events. However I understand that links to local newspapers are frustrating because they take stuff down so fast.

I agree, I also think a great improvement would be links to other sources that discuss the same topics, but I do understand that for most of the news, the only news source is Trains. I sometimes wish articles were bigger, I look for the news on the web and can't find it anywhere else. It's certainly a part of my everyday life.

Thanks Trains.

I'm a daily reader of the Newswire column. I appreciate that this site edits out the goofy references that are often in original articles. I do, however, miss the longer articles that were part of this column at one time.

Also look at the BLE and UTU web suites each day- thay have good news sections too- some overlap, but a lot of different stories too. Also get to read the jabs at each other, too.

Newswire is good. One of about eight or nine RR news sites I check frequently.

As a foreigner, I rely on newswire and Trains to keep me updated on the latest news about railroads, as our railroads usually follow trends in the U.S. around 5 years later

I read every chance I get. I especially love the articles on steam , which by the way as most people who keep up with trains at any length, is Far from dead
