update on CSX active towers
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, October 25, 2003 4:13 PM
[:)]Trains issue Apr. '95 "Tower tribute" by Brian Pulus, showed open towers in northern W.V. & Maryland and Southern Penn. I need an update on the towers in that area that are still open for a trip I'm planning. Any help welcome. Thank yor, rrbobby.

The only active tower left in Maryland is WB tower in Brunswick.

Others, such as Miller tower in Cherry Run WV, were closed as CSX modernized its signal system.

WB in Brunswick is still active, with a new paint job and some recent restoration. Authough not accessable very close, it is DIRECTLY across the tracks from a public park. (See mu park site image page, it has a few shots of it: http://trainheartedguy.tripod.com/park.htm)
