BNSF Business Car Train?
Posted by eolafan on Sunday, October 19, 2003 11:25 AM
Anybody hear about a train of BNSF business cars coming into Chicago on the old Q line through Aurora next Saturday some time? Yesterday I spoke with the Eola Yardmaster and he said they had a train of business cars with two new Pumpkin Dash 9 units come through last Saturday with all 21 business cars (he said it came through Rochelle, anybody see it?). Any information on the timing (if he was not Sh---ing me) of this move next week would be appreciated. Jim[:)]

There was a BNSF business car train that ran last Sunday, St. Paul-Chicago, arriving Chicago 16:10 and departing immediately for Kansas City, arriving 01:30 Monday. It was a special for the Lexington Group in Transportation History. It had six cars and two C44-9Ws (one BNSF Heritage 1, one Santa Fe). Consist included a theater car and a full dome. Apparently it had made some other out-and-back trips in St. Paul the week before last. There were a handful of photographers in Rochelle as it passed.

Unfortunately I do not know about any upcoming moves.

Thanks Mark, evidently the Eola Yardmaster was partially correct but not about 21 cars. Another guy I hang out with at Eola said he saw the six cars and two units you speak about. I will likely be trackside Saturday to see if I can spot the "new" move. Thanks again, Jim
