Quite a few go past my house, hauling trainloads of coal over the ex-Frisco River Line to Rush Island power plant near Ste. Genevieve. I've also seen them in Lindenwood Yard. Personally I liked BNSF's first color scheme, but they can't seem to make up their mind.

I have seen them a few times on the UP/BNSF Joint Line here in Colorado Springs.

If I have the dates right, BNSF has gotten about 1,161 Coalporters in 2006 (the Swoosh was adopted in 2005, right?).  Numbers are BNSF 670500-671660.

I believe that about 3 or 4 trains a week with these type cars travel west through Missoula on the MRL towards Sand Point, ID,  with BNSF power.  Just guessing that they are from the Power River basin.  I have no Idea of what the ultimate destination is, but it doesnt take long after one goes west until an empty just like it passes back through on the way East.  Either the destination is not too far, or they pass somewhere close to here!.  May try to keep the camera ready or a pencile paper to record some arkings, just tosee if it is a quick turnaround, or passing somewhere near here!

Don't know how many BNSF has, but I see entire trains with the Coalporters go through on the Ottumwa Subdivision. They look very nice.

Long live the BNSF .... AND its paint scheme. SchemerBob

Does anyone know how many new coalporters bnsf purchased with the new logo and where they are running?  Where I live, all I see is JHMX headed to Alabama Power.
