Sex for Dummies,

Motorcycles for Dummies, Divorce for Dummies, Coin Collecting For Dummies, Pottery For Dummies, and a host of other Dummies books, but no Railroad or Model Trains for Dummies. What gives?

Also, the "Idiot" books do not contain a train volume.

We need to grow this hobby better!

Cabless B units? Ugly Slugs? Calves?

No. That would be titled: Sex With Dummies.

As I mentioned, they have books on cars, motorcycles and other hobbies but none on trains, real or model.

No wonder trains aren't more sexy with most (but not all) of the opposite sex.

Bachmann includes a video cassete in thier trainsets so can't possibly screw up when setting it up, but I'm sure some people still manage to.

Does that count as a possible guide?

   Have fun with your trains

I have seen lots of books on trains, model and prototype. They just aren't kept in the "mainstream" section of the bookstores.[:(] We have the books, we just need better marketing. I believe there were some photo's at one time that had some rather shapely "representatives" for railroading.[:D] Unfortunately, I never got to view any of them before they went the way of the steamers.[V] But as your subject line proves by Mookie"s reply, sex sells.[:p] Here's an idea, maybe we should ask Trains to create a women of railroading calendar!![:D] What do you think, Bergie? Oh, and we would have to have one for the ladies to enjoy as well, right Mookie[:0]

Gleefully,
Admiral

Once in The Onion they made fun of the "Sex Issue" that some magazine had, and they said other magazines were doing it....and they had a cover of a fake Model Railroad issue, with things like "Sassy Stations" mentioned on the cover. Ok, I'm aware that connections exist....according to Freud, anyone who dreams of trains entering tunnels wants one thing (but what would he know, he was a Siderodromophobic - afraid of rails and trains). In another board, similar to this one, someone asked about getting intimate on an Empire corridor train (probably a leading spokesman for ressurecting the overnight Niagara Rainbow)

By the way, maybe I'm an oddball....when I dream of a train entering a tunnel, I want to know what the consist is!

Although in today's environment you'd better check your signals to see if you have a proceed, stop or absolute stop.

I totally agree. In todays world, unless it is a highball clear, treat it as a dark signal...absolute stop until asking the dispatcher if you may proceed...with caution. You may miss an opportunity or two, but it is much better than ignoring a signal and winding up in a wreck.

I think that is about the most metaphoric writing I have ever done![}:)]

Ms Mook, you sound just a little to eager to get that job. Might Queen Mookie have other "watching" interests besides trains?[:0] What other [}:)]units[}:)] have you been observing. Enquiring minds want to know![:D]

Well, I guess this sex thing can be a rather broad topic, as I see it is already expanding somewhat. Trains mag featured sexy women in their early 70s magazines and while I enjoyed seeing sex magazines in my puberty years back then, I preferred Trains to stick to trains.

I must be extremely sexually deviant because, yesterday I caught myself googling at this lovely lady with gorgeous legs at Alexandria station where I catch my VRE home. Just then a CSX train rounded the bend and my attention suddenly shifted to the train and she became an obstacle to my view.

Perhaps I'm getting old or something?

OK, Mook, let me backtrack just a bit. I had my left eye on the gal and my right eye on the train (a very hard feat of skill to perform if you've ever tried watching two things at once). As the train passed the gal, I failed to switch eyes fast enough and I became cross-eyed and bewildered, not knowing what to do!

Anyway, trains and gals are both "she's". I have just gotten an idea about this that I will post separately (but I have to leave in 30 minutes to catch my VRE train).

As long as it help me to lose about 15 lbs, I'm good with a little leak. Chances are it's just what precious little mind I have left.
