There is definetly Hamlet, which is an excellent place. As far as extreme southeastern NC I can suggest Pembroke conviently off I-95 and a very very busy junction of CSX. Wilmington is close by, the ex-headquarters of ACL. They have numerous CSX trains, a good-sized yard, busy port, and their own terminal railway operating sw1200's.

If you can get to Hamlet,NC you will not be disapointed. I realize this is not quite SE, but for volume its the place.

Can anyone give me some hints as to where to watch trains in the Southeastern North Carolina area?
