Does anyone out there know how much the various railroads pay for AC4400's and SD90MAC's?

I'm sure it would depend on different factors, such as railroad-specified options, trade-in units (do they still do that?), etc. But you're in the vicinity of two million bucks per unit for an AC unit like that.

(From what I've heard about the SD90MACs, though, EMD couldn't give 'em away any more!)

I have ran both units and ill take the 90 anyday over the ge 44. i will say tis the ge model was better than exspected and did pretty good. but for the power and the time it got to track speed the 90 was the winner.

Wabash,
You stated that the 90MACS get up to track speed faster than the GEs, but what is the average time it takes to get a engine up to track speed, taking into consideration the size, terrian and weigh of the train.

I have a website for you to see but it is all older stuff. I enjoy seeing it even though it is older and overpriced.

Mind you this isn't the new stuff.

Oh my, sorry, I got a bit foamy there for a minute. (it would be pretty cool though)
