BNSF Radio Frequencies West of Galesburg, IL

Hey gang,
I am at school in Macomb, IL and have an older model uniden bearcat scanner (BC 120 XLT) as well as the 15th addition of the compendium of railroad radio frequencies book. I have programmed in the frequencies listed for the lines in the area, but have not heard MUCH AT ALL. I have listened to the dispatcher about 3 times in the last 2 days and thats it. I am using 161.100 for the line through macomb, 161.385 for south of bushnell, and a few others. The dispatch was talking on 161.385. Does BNSF now use digital technology that my scanner cannot pick up? I think its this cuz every now and again it sounds like a old atari game or something. I would really like some advice on the situation.
IF i do need a new scanner, is there a good CB and scanner store on the internet and what model of scanner would be good. Want about the middle of the road scanner, trunking and digital capabilities. At an air show i saw a new bearcat that you could plug in a chip to add capabilites. Is that a good one and whats the model # of that. Thanks alot guys...have a good en
