Where To Go To See Trains In Maine

Hey, I'm from maine and ever since i lived in utah for a year with my uncle, I have been fascinated with trains...of course maine hardly has any compared to utah and the trains here are midgets compared to those dash 8's and sd's out there but does anyone know where some decent places are in maine to watch trains? i live in central maine...I just want to be able to see them more like i did out there =(

The two best places I know of are South Portland/Digby Yard area and Bangor. Guilford from Bangor south and BAR in the north...or whomever owns them now. There are also tracks that run from Portland north parallel to the Guilford line through Yarmouth, which are labeled for St Lawrence and Atlantic but I have never seen any thing on them. Out of Portland you can also watch Amtrak on its Boston run. Also, Brunswick is where the old Maine Coast Line interchanges cement cars with Guilford. They also run an autumn leaf excursion which was powered by an RS11. i don't knwo if Guilford still runs the Waterville shops, never made it up there, but it used to be worth a visit I hear.
