They will be restored for charter train service I think. A Swiss group had the same plans but the could not secure financing apparently. Plans call for either building a new power car or "kitbashing" one of the driving trailers. 3 axle trucks from Dutch class 1200 electrics (designed by Baldwin / Westinghouse and build locally here in the Netherlands) would be used and the powerplant from class DE3 dmu's. They are contemporaries of these dmu's which were class DE4 . A few DE3's are still waiting for the scrapper or sale to some poor railway company, plans for selling them to Cuba fell through some years back.
Personally I would like to see them with a Nohab / AFB diesel loco (EMD F7 clone with double cab) in push-pull service as delivered to Denmark, Norway, Hungary (Nohab) and Belgium and Luxemburg (AFB). A number of them are available e.g. in Germany or Denmark.
As for livery I prefer yellow and blue (but then, I am Dutch and see these colors daily on our passenger trains) over the red and cream of the TEE.

There are now 5 cars of the former Ontario Northland Northlander service (formerly Dutch and Swiss TEE dmu's) stored at the yard of Nedtrain's maintenance faclity in Zwolle, the Netherlands. Three coaches and 2 driving trailers. The power cars were scrapped in Canada.
They were recently moved from Switzerland and brought back to Europe some years back.
Here are some pictures I took 2 weeks ago:
