Battery-powered shop switchers have been around for a while and seem to be found in car shops, industries, and other places where they are used in light duty and not very frequently.  The long charging time is a major limitation to more widespread use.
The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

Saw one of these in a Car Repair yard in New Castle PA..

Looked like a powered truck with car battterys on it...Operater said it took 8 hours to charge and could pull 20 cars
