The last time I rode on CalTrain (San Jose to San Francisco), conductors made announcements before the trains departed the stations, asking passengers to either forego cell phone calls or talk quietly. Many passengers ignored the request--surprise. It will be interesting to see if CalTrain has gone to "quiet cars" when I go back to the Bay Area later this year...

[?] I know Metra has new coaches but I'm not sure if they're quiet cars. [^] David

I'm working to get Metro-North to try cell-phone free Quiet Cars on commuters runs from GCT to CT.
Does anyone know of any other RR's offering Quiet Cars aside from Amtrak and MARC?
Any leads appreciated!
