I hate those automatic horns. I'd rather hear the natural sounds of the railroad.

Thanks, I was thinking that that picture was taken in Vernon Hills because of that thing, and then thought, wow that is rare.

The horn is ok. It has a unique sound I think.

Those units came thru Eola eastbound last night at about 5:30 p.m. Those of us watching had our view obscured by a freight movement into the east yard.

Sorry about the latness of posting the photos. I have had alot on my plate lately. Here are the many METRA's. All rejected from railpictures.net for some reason or the other.

Their were also some really cool and rare cars on the freight train, but I really don't feel like uploading those to rrpicturearchives.net right now.

Kinda funny you mention that Chris, I was in Madison, WI the other day, and spotted a Cat "Railworks" piece of machinery... Couldn't tell ya what it was though! Probably not a D-9, it was working on a branchline...[:o)]

Gotta love those 45's in any configuration, but especially the F units.

Today, I found a new! At Lisle, at around 6:00PM today, (June 29, 2006.) I saw a BNSF D-9, a CN SD75I, I think, and an old ICE SD45, #308, or 306. I forgot. I will have pictures up soon. It was worth the wait. I lost count of METRA's after 5.
