Andrew (Glen Ellyn) had some good shots of all three units on his "Yay, Yay, Yay!" thread.

Also a few further west on Trainorders.com, if you have access to it.

Would you believe Eagle Grove?

Lots of soybean biz (AGP), and now ethanol besides.  There's an MEAPR, too.

Anybody got a picture of the three (1995, 8701, 8646) together?

If Daley broke a bottle of champagne over the coupler it would no doubt leak into the basements of some of the neighboring buildings, causing the "loop flood of 2006".  You other folks from Chicago area will undoubtedly understand this reference.

CC, they've flipped CB with the other Iowa trains.  MPRCB now goes out in the morning (around 0930) and MPRDM and MPREA are out during the afternoon.  MPRCL is still a nighttime departure.

As reported elsewhere, MPRCB departed today at 0922, with UP 1995 and CNW 8646 and 8701 as power.

What time do the engines that run the MPRCB come back to Chicago?

I posted it on another thread.... MPRCB (the last I heard) usually departs Proviso @1315 - 1420 hours M-F. Depends on Metra scoot 33 and ZCSLT.

There are 2 of them at IRM.  One of them, CNW 411 is being restored from its Metra paint, and should be done at the end of next week.  The plan was that if it was done before this weekend, it would have gone down to Northwestern Station with the restored CNW belevels for the ceremony.

Well, UP 1995 isn't going to IRM Sunday. The CNW F7 won't be at Ogilvie.
The only good news is that 1995 will be leading the other two CNWs on Sunday morning westward!

MPRCB, didn't the last three CNW's work that "mission" for a little while. What time would it come through, lets say Glen Ellyn. Glen Ellyn is imbetween Elmhurst and West Chicago. To be more specific, it is the town East of Wheaton, and West of Lombard.

I seem to remember some black with the yellow and green on the F's in the late 50's, early 60's. Went away with the hood units...

And were there any solid green switchers in the same era?

And second, Horicon is less than a day away from Chicago. They could finish painting on Thursday, tarp it, ship it down Thursday night, and then move it to Ogilvie on Friday night. Remember all the other locomotives' unveilings were a lot farther away from Horicon (except the Katy).

Well, take a look at my website. Seriously, I have a picture up there. Pretty close to what I look like, though I'm more of a "cue ball" these days -- or a 3 ball, depending on how much sun I get [:o)] !!!

I think UP keeps trying to hide their Heritage units as long as possible. Not really working so far, though 4141 seemed to be the biggest surprise. Maybe that's the key -- not announcing things too far in advance of the unveiling! Kinda hard to hide a big ol' thing like a locomotive... [:D]

Makes me wonder though... how well did Great Northern do when they unveiled the big sky blue scheme? Of course, they didn't have all these cool forums on the internet in those days.

Back on topic, I think the only way UP could really "hide" things till the unveiling would be to have it painted near to the unveiling site. Unfortunately, WSOR's Horicon paint shop is only in Horicon, WI! They've well proven themselves to be an extremely high-quality paint shop.
