Kansas City Southern employment information?????
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, August 14, 2003 11:09 PM
Is there anyone that can give me some information on KCS employment information? I am interested in the signal department or possibly an electronics technician position. I would appreciate any information on whether they are hiring or will be in the near future.

Kansas City Southern appears to be one of the last major railroads that you can only apply through the state employment offices, the rest either have job recruitment fairs or you can apply directly on their website. Good luck in your hunt for work with them, from my understanding a fine company to work for.

You're welcome. Which part of the system (territory) will you be covering?

Good luck and take care

I will be working with various signal construction gangs and after a month or two I will probably be working out of Wiley, TX or Shreveport, LA. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area so it will be perfect. I am leaving a shortline (contracting) as a signal maintainer, but I have always wanted to work for a class 1. There are so many conflicting issues with short line and regional railroads with equipment and various parts to keep crossing operating as intended. I personally didn't want to be sitting in court for someone getting killed at a crossing, because the railroad don't want to buy parts. I won't rabble on about this and I am way off the main topic, but I am happy I am moving on.
