O/T: Information on a Louisville Landmark needed
Posted by bnsfkline on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 9:01 PM
I am currently helping my neighbor do a report on tubercleosis (sp?) and we are looking for back ground on a particular Sanatorium near Louisville Kentuky. The landmark is known as the Waverly Hills Sanatorium. I have done a search on the place but mostly came up with stuff that was related to the buildings 63,000 spirits. (Yes, THAT many ghosts) From what I have gathered so far is over 63,000 people died during the Sanatoriums existance between its opening and its closing in 1961.

Any information that can help us with this back ground will be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah, to make it railroad related, the powerhouse to the sanatorium was supplied by coal delivered by the Illinois Central Railway
