Railroads today have retitled the waycars or buggies to "shoving platforms" to me just another hack.

Back in the 80s on a 'tie gang" I got to ride in a caboose between work areas. Man was that fun we had 8 people in the caboose all trying to ride in the cupola.Almost every crossing we went across the people would wave. What a rush. It was a Detroit and Toledo shoreline caboose so it was nice and clean.Anyway i only did it once but it was fun.
