Read the book version by John Boorman, its more fun. Movies a hoot too.

also to Zardoz, I know we're surrounded by Vogons, but I'll just let Marvin explain his outlook of life, If that doesnt kill them nothing will.

I first saw the movie when I was about 20, and really liked it. I saw it again last year, and it turned out to be a far deeper movie than I remembered. I just couldn't resist using the name.
