Pat, the increase will come in 5-mph increments. I think the plans are still on, and you may see 100-mph operation between Niles and K-zoo this year.

question about a scheduled speed increase on Amtrak's Michigan corrider

My question is pertaining to the speed increase that I read about in trains last year (sorry I'm not sure what issue) about a speed increase to 110 MPH on Amtrak's MIchigan corrider this May. The increase that the article was featureing was to 95 MPH and I went up to Michigan and verified that. I mainly would like to get any input about if this 110 MPH is actually going to happen, or is just a long term goal. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks, pat
